Teacher by Day…Actor by Night

Admit it, you thought were we were going to talk about Jean.  In fact, this time, this post is about Laura Colasurdo’s husband, Luke, who teaches 1st and 2nd grade (a split class) at Cascade Elementary in Renton.

Luke first got involved in theater as a high school student at O’Dea in Seattle, where he acted and did some student directing.  He continued performing at Shoreline Community College.  Since then his primary involvement in theater has been producing and directing plays at Hazelwood and Cascade Elementary Schools in Renton.  Luke’s last performance was in Thank You Dr. Canterbury at The New Space Theatre in 2008. He’s excited to be back on the stage.  This is Laura first opportunity to see him on stage!

Luke is starring in Mortimer which is being presented by KT Production at the Freehold Theatre in Seattle’s Belltown.  Mortimer is a play about two close friends and one last friendly hangout. Or is it?

Mortimer is written and directed by Todd Szekely, and stars Kevin Love and Luke Colasurdo. Set design is by by Hannah Letinich.

Dates for the performance are December 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, and 21.  All shows are at 8 pm. Tickets are $10.00 and are on sale now – online only. Tickets will not be available at the door (but you can use a phone or other device to make your purchase.)
