Important School Policies
- Absences
Please email the school at lizeth@hillsidesc.org or contact the school answering machine at 425-747-6448 before 8:00 AM if your child is going to be tardy or absent. You can also send us a text at 425-213-4712.
- Regular School Attendance
School attendance is vitally important to your child’s progress and academic success. Excessive absences and tardy attendance impact the student’s ability to learn and to participate in our community and can have a negative impact on the student’s grade. Non-essential activities, appointments, and vacations should be scheduled outside of school hours. The Hillside Attendance Policy provides a thorough explanation. In consideration of the teachers and for the sake of student learning, we ask that submission of the Pre-Approved Absence form occur at least one month prior to planned travel.
- Dismissal Time and Student Pick Ups
Regular class dismissal is 3:20 PM. Please note dismissal times for any After School Clubs in which your child may be enrolled. If parents are late for the 3:20 PM pick up, they will be billed $10.00 per 15 minute increment. Thanks for being on time! If parents pick up their children during the school day for appointments, etc., the parent must park outside of the dead end street and come into the school to collect the student.
- Contacting Teachers Outside of School Hours
Students with urgent questions about homework may email their teachers outside of school hours. However, the teacher is not required to respond immediately. They will reply as soon as they are available. Parents with a special concern should contact the teacher directly by email or via JupiterEd.
- Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences
Leslie will send a Sign-Up Genius link two weeks ahead of the conferences. Please see school calendar for dates.
- Contacting the School or Your Child
Best way to contact the school is via email at lizeth@hillsidesc.org. You can also call the school phone at (425) 747-6448 to relay a message to your child. Students are asked to turn off cell phones while at school.
- Tylenol or Ibuprofen Policy
Hillside Student Community students may be administered Tylenol or Ibuprofen for minor pain complaints. If you DO NOT wish your child to be administered Tylenol or Ibuprofen, please fill out the Tylenol and Ibuprofen Policy and Refusal Form and return it to Hillside prior to the start of the school year.
