What’s Happening at Hillside…
Spotlight on…
The First Month back!
Welcome back to Hillside – we are so glad to commence our 54th year with you! We began this year spending a few days getting to know some new faces, renewing old acquaintances, and figuring out how to grow as a community. This included building some shelves as teams, playing a rousing game of musical chairs, and sharing our favorite plants. We laughed, sparred, and opened up to what this school year has in store for all of us.

Amy Elizabeth Spens, a Hillside alum from our 2011 graduating class, has just received her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington. Congratulations, Dr. Spens!

Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from September 15th-October 15th. We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month to recognize the achievements and contributions of Hispanic American champions who have inspired others to achieve success. The theme for this year is “Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation.” Here is a great article from the Census Bureau on the Latino population in the U.S.
