What’s Happening at Hillside in April
Spotlight On…
Grimm Tales
It’s that time of year again! Get ready for the Intermediate Drama performance!
This Thursday and Friday, Hillside’s gym becomes the deep, dark, woods that birthed the creepy, spooky, and delightful folk tales collected by Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm.
The Intermediate Students will bring several of the Brothers Grimm’s stories to life! Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Tickets are $10.
History Feast!
What better way to celebrate May Day than with a medieval-style feast? Historic personages from Ancient and Medieval History will meet, converse, and entertain while you dine. Students have spent months researching their historical subjects and working on synthesizing what would happen should those people meet. This culminating event for History is not to be missed, and will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, in our Festal Hall (the gym).
High Schoolers
The remaining History Feast Script Sessions are on Wednesday, April 6; Monday, April 18; Saturday, April 23; and Wednesday, April 27. You should be at the school at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 1, to set up and rehearse for the evening’s festivities.
Fencing
Fencing restarts on Tuesday, April 19, but instead of an April 26 session, there is one scheduled for Monday, April 25.
GiveBIG
We will again participate in the Seattle Foundation’s annual one-day GiveBIG fundraiser. This year, May 3rd is the chosen day; every donation we receive through their website will increase the amount of stretch funds for Hillside. Stay tuned for more information about how to participate!
