Hillside is pleased to announce the start of this fall’s SAT Club, led by Acting Counselor Ivy Johnson with assistance from Erick Weitkamp and others.
In the SAT Club, we are going to prepare students for their test day by covering the fundamentals necessary to be well prepared, and to obtain a great score. Through diagnostic tests, students will gain an idea of their strengths and weaknesses and how to deal with them. We will teach them how to attack the math and critical reading sections, and suggest strategies they can use to improve their test taking skills and avoiding built in “traps”. We will also work with students to improve their overall essay writing skills. We will be using materials pulled from the 2014 Kaplan SAT Strategies, Practice and Review book, as well as other materials collected from a variety of sources.
The cost is $100 per student for five sessions. Please make out checks to Hillside Student Community School.
Meeting dates are on the following Fridays, from 3- 5 pm: 10/18, 11/1, 11/15, 12/6, 12/20
Please let us know if your child is interested in attending by emailing Ivy.
