First a few reminders and announcements:

We love your pets but unfortunately several students have allergies. So when you visit Hillside, please leave your pets at home.  Our sneezing students thank you!

Here are the highlights for the month of October:

Wednesday, October 2 – College Information Night – 7 pm to 8:30 pm

Ivy Johnson is holding a meeting to explain the processes involved in being accepted into undergraduate programs in four-year private colleges and universities.

Topics included will be:

  • Hillside’s 12th grade involvement in the Running Start program
  • The college testing sequence at Hillside
  • Information that she will request in order to write her recommendation
  • The Common Application

Saturday, Oct. 5 – All School Family Fall Social – 7 pm to 8:30 pm

Come one, come all!  All Hillside families are invited to attend Hillside’s annual Fall Social. Hillside will provide the refreshments for this evening of fun and frolic.  We hope you will join us and become better acquainted with the broader Hillside community!

Monday, Oct. 7 – Teachers` Meeting – 3:30 pm

Tuesday, Oct. 8 – PLAN testing (gr. 10)  –  12 noon to 3 pm

Students must bring two #2 pencils, an eraser and a graphing calculator with them.

Thursday, Oct. 10 – BLOCK IB begins

gr. 7        English
gr. 8        General Science
gr. 9-11   US History

Wednesday, Oct. 16 – PSAT testing (gr. 11) –  9 am to 12 noon

Students must bring two #2 pencils, an eraser and a graphing calculator with them.

Saturday, Oct. 26 – Halloween Party (gr. 7-12) – 7 pm to 10 pm

On Saturday, October 26, Hillside holds our annual Halloween party for Hillside students, grades 7-12. Come for prizes — a dark night of wandering blindly through the twisted, misty forest — a profoundly frightening scary story — and games and more!  An evening of ‘horror-ible’ fun for all.

We ask $10 per student to cover the cost of supplies.  Please give checks or cash to Susan by Friday, October 18.
